What a night of celebration for our Hope Through Action Community Sport and Education Centres! All three of our Centre Volleyball Clubs shone brightly at the Cape Winelands Volleyball Union Awards 2025, bringing home multiple awards and rewriting history together.
Hope Through Action Swartland Community Sport Centre
Our SCSC Volleyball Club made history with a nomination for Club of the Year and a 3rd place finish in the Cape Winelands Female League – a milestone never before achieved!
Individual brilliance sparkled too:
• Lihle Khwili won the Players’ Player of the Year Award, Best Junior Player Award, and received Western Cape National Team recognition.
• Sinothando Mhlaba was recognised as a Best Junior Player nominee and for being a Western Cape National Team participant.
• Sinovuyo September won the Most Improved Player Award
• Analo Kotsana was recognised as a Players’ Player of the Year nominee.
In addition, SCSC’s Centre Manager, Jacques Treadway was nominated for Administrator of the Year – and Coach Busi Zulu received a prestigious Presidential Award for her groundbreaking leadership.
Hope Through Action Mbekweni Community Sport Centre
MCSC’s Volleyball Club celebrated a fantastic 2nd place finish for their Female Volleyball Team and a 3rd place finish for their Male Volleyball Team. And the MCSC Coach, Zolani Ngada, was honoured with a Presidential Award for her unwavering dedication to the development of the sport in her local community.
Hope Through Action Franschhoek Valley Community Sport Centre
FVCSC proudly celebrated their Coach, who has given the FVCSC Volleyball Club a new lease on life this year – and continues to contribute to the sport more generally. Luyanda Ntwana received a Presidential Award for his continued contribution to the development of volleyball in the Winelands, as well as recognition for successfully completing the Level 1 Para-Volleyball Course – a testament to his commitment to the sport and its future.
